My profile Personal details.
Currently- Based at Pear Tree Farm in the New Forest.
History- Having started as a working pupil for grand prix rider Zoe
Colgate at a young age,you could say I was in the right place at the
right time.....in return for dedication, hard work and an open mind,i
got many rides under Zoe's watchful eye, from just backed homebreds to
grand prix schoolmasters. I had the privilage of bringing on all
kinds of horses from first outing to advanced level, learning a little
something different from each one.
After many years and Zoe's sad retirement from the sport I moved
on,working for several different riders both in england and
abroad, gaining more experience and experiencing different training
methods. I then took up a rider position in Barcelona,Spain, again
bringing on and re-training horses for dressage,as well as training
riders from prelim to adv. medium. Here I competed to advanced
(reprise 4)on several different horses and again experienced even
more training methods!
With over ten years hands on experience I specialize in the
sympathetic but effective training or re-training of all age and
standard of horse, plus all standards or rider! I am also BHS
qualified, having gained exams whilst training under Hilary Hughes
(BHSI) and Pammy Hutton.
Focus- My idea of training is fairly straightforward. I aim to get
the best from both horse and rider without making it unpleasant for
either! My aim is also for both parties to develop a better technique
and help them achieve their goals with emphasis on positive reward
and a ‘give it a go' attitude…it doesn't matter if you cant tell your
canter leads from your canter pirouette, I hope that by building a
more confident and trusting relationship between you and your horse
you'll both have more fun and understand each other a little better! |
